(written to myself by my better judgement)

When it comes to life, there’s a lot of us who can’t figure out what we’re doing wrong when we make the effort to improve our situations. I’m no guru, but I’ll go through some examples to illustrate what im getting at.
Here’s a list of the things everyone knows are good for us (put succinctly): sleep, drinking, eating, exercise, work, and having a hobby.
“Well ok, but I already do those things every day,” you might say. “sure, i do exercise, i eat, i sleep… whats the problem?”
Here’s the key, then: nailing it
To quote Damien Hirst in a Tate Modern clip I saw some while ago, he said that “Art is really anything at all done really well,” that’s how he saw it then, and i can empathise now.
Having breakfast – get yourself to whip up something awesome with nutrients packed in. Try that, maybe, or just employ a vision of “whats my ultimate breakfast like”.
Exercising? Really push! Nail your form, and look up vids maybe on what you should be doing and how to achieve better form. Even if just a little, make sure you know what your goal is and adjust your routines so.
Dont delude yourself, be honest to a degree you can just about stand, because I believe our better judgements come from a place beyond our control and understanding, and can be so sharp they’re actually potentially dangerous. So trust your head, instinct and heart, to help build these routines; They end up sculpting who you are.
It’s that better judgement, that higher ideal of who you are: although his/her words may come faintly at first, that “little voice” telling you what to do, is there to learn, just the same as the person you show to the world.
Goals are paramount, but routines and how you implement them are sometimes every bit as important. Your goal may change, not be reached or fade away. If that happens on not nailing your task, remember you have routine structures that will be there, more informed when you take another go at it. And if you have any positive mental attitude left over, grind it sharp again.
Your goals will become almost like side effects, in some ways, when you do.
