I Partook in a Happiness

It was 6am,
I felt rested and recharged.
I felt hump day like there was a child inside.
I hold the happiness now like a golden rod,
That glistens and shines,
Despite time’s funeral dirge.

I surely want to stay,
Of course, why feel different on other days?
If I’m aware it must,
Those sordid banished feelings,
Crawl around in the dust,
Beneath marble, burnished ceilings.

In context, everything is so final,
So that this day may bring,
To it, an end,
At least its memory,
Will be a lasting friend.
